Are you interested in being a host school for one of our trainees next year? Do you know someone who is ready to train to teach?
We are looking for schools to host trainee teachers from September 2020 to July 2021.
The Kirklees & Calderdale SCITT (School Centred Initial Teacher Training) accredits both School Direct (salaried and trainee funded) and SCITT routes into teaching. We offer QTS (qualified teaching status) accreditation and can, in partnership with the University of Huddersfield, offer QTS with PGCE.
If you are interested, we would be happy to talk through our generous financial package that we offer schools in order for you to support trainees. We also offer free, accredited mentor training and support throughout the year.
ITT places 2020
For the academic year 2020-21, we have been allocated Primary places and Secondary in Art & Design, Biology, Chemistry, Drama, Design & Technology, English, Geography, History, Mathematics, Modern foreign Language, Music, Physical Education, Physics and Religious Studies.
We are also working with local alliances in both Kirklees & Calderdale through the School Direct route offering training places which significantly increases our involvement in local ITT provision.
Do you have a suitable candidate working in your school?
If you are aware of any suitable candidates for 2020-2021, who may be either working or volunteering in your school, please ask them to contact us. Our next train to teach information event is on Monday 7 October, 5pm - 6pm. We hold information events every month.
Work with us!
We would be more than happy to help and support colleagues through the challenges and procedures in ITT and look forward to working with you. We work with many school colleagues through interviewing candidates, contributing to our core programme or being Tutors. This has assisted a number of colleagues in their personal and professional development.
